Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about your surgery, recovery and our clinic.
During the initial consultation, Dr. Erdem will listen to your aesthetic goals in detail, assess your nasal structure clinically and inform you about the planned procedure, recovery process and potential risks. A personalised surgical plan outline is prepared by the end of the appointment.
Stop blood-thinning medications (aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.) and herbal supplements at least two weeks before surgery. If you smoke, quitting four weeks in advance significantly improves healing. On the day of surgery, arrive fasting, wear loose comfortable clothing and bring a companion.
In the closed technique, all incisions remain inside the nostrils — no external scarring and a generally shorter recovery. In the open technique, a small additional incision is made on the columella (the skin bridge between the nostrils), giving the surgeon a wider field of view for complex cases. The appropriate technique is determined by your nasal anatomy and the planned intervention.
Yes. Digital simulation images are created at our clinic so you can form a preliminary idea of the potential outcome. While these visuals are not a guarantee, they are a valuable tool for aligning your expectations with surgically achievable goals.
Primary rhinoplasty typically takes 2–3 hours. Revision cases or procedures combined with septoplasty may take longer. The duration depends on the individual nasal structure and the planned intervention.
A cast and splint are worn during the first week, when swelling and bruising are at their peak. Most patients return to social activities and light work by the second week. Strenuous exercise and sun exposure should be avoided for 4–6 weeks. Final results become visible over 6–12 months as nasal tissue gradually settles.
Yes. Functional procedures such as septoplasty and turbinate treatment can be performed in the same session as rhinoplasty. This approach reduces overall recovery time and addresses both concerns under a single anaesthesia.
As with any surgical procedure, rhinoplasty carries risks including infection, bleeding, anaesthesia reactions and asymmetry. At our clinic, comprehensive pre-operative assessment and an experienced surgical team minimise these risks. All risks are clearly explained during your consultation.
Take all prescribed medications regularly, keep your head elevated, and avoid wearing glasses or direct sun exposure. No exercise for the first two weeks; avoid sudden movements and rubbing the nose. Attend all follow-up appointments without exception.
Our clinic provides a 24/7 post-operative contact line. In the event of heavy bleeding, fever, excessive swelling or unexpected pain, contact us immediately. Remote follow-up and guidance are provided even if you are abroad.
In open technique rhinoplasty, a small incision is made on the columella; this scar fades significantly over time and becomes largely invisible. In the closed technique, all incisions remain inside the nose with no external scarring.
At least 12 months must pass after the previous procedure to allow nasal tissue to fully settle. You can schedule a consultation earlier, but surgery is planned after this period has elapsed.
Yes. In some cases, complementary procedures such as chin augmentation (genioplasty) or facial fillers can be planned in the same session. This decision depends on the patient's overall health, total operating time and surgical priorities.
Filler injections (non-surgical rhinoplasty) can be an option for minor asymmetry or projection issues; however, results are not permanent and this approach is not suitable for cases requiring bone or cartilage correction. The most appropriate approach for you is determined at consultation.
Yes. Comprehensive packages are available for international patients, including an online pre-consultation, accommodation, VIP transfer and remote post-operative follow-up. The surgical plan is finalised before you return home.
We recommend staying in Antalya for at least 7 days to cover the pre-operative consultation, surgery and initial post-operative check. This period is sufficient to begin a safe recovery and complete all necessary follow-ups.

The first step is an online consultation where your goals, concerns and nasal structure are reviewed. This is followed by an in-clinic examination, imaging if needed, and a personalised surgical plan.
